| This is an attractive tree from tropical America and West Africa growing to a
height of 20 m. Leaves are compound and alternately arranged along the branches.
Flowers are in dense terminal bunches, lilac or pale rose and fragrant. Fruits
are nearly roundish structures, each containing a single large seed. It is a
popular ornamental tree, grown for shade and for the attractive flowers. |
